Before the wedding season gets into full flow we decided to take a short break down to the Dorset Coast in an old split screen VW campervan. The van is called Dougal and belongs to Vanilla Splits who hire out classic campervans to anyone with a sense of adventure.

She’s not the most elegant dog, but we love her to bits!
One morning last week I opened the curtains and saw a gobsmacking sunrise. I thought it was worth sharing.
What a stunning world we live in!!!
The fact that we live in such beautiful countryside has also driven one of my personal projects for 2010. Below are just a couple of images so far. The idea is to capture a year in the life. Starting on January 1st and ending on December 31st.
Well we're now already half way through January and we've definitely had a great start to the new year. In the spirit of our last blog we spent the first week skiing in Val d'Isere, speeding through champagne powder surrounded by stunning mountains and of course enjoying the après ski (vin chaud on tap!) in the company of great friends. Who could ask for more? Here are a few holiday snaps to enjoy.
Now that we are back and well rested we are raring to go and make 2010 our best year yet. One nice surprise to come home to was a copy of Cosmo Bride with a feature of one of our weddings from 2009 (Feb/Mar 2010 issue). The feature was of Natalie and James's wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire.
We enjoyed this wedding so much that we've included a few more images from the day below.
Natalie and James are such a fun loving couple that we thought they would be perfect for our promotional film which you can see here. A short film is a great way to show potential clients what you can do.
In our next blog Ian will give a few tips on how to go about making your own film.

Happy New Year everyone!
We decided to bring in the New Year a little differently for 2010. Rather than the usual heavy headed late morning awakening, we rose early and headed out with Inca and our cameras into Petworth Park. Not surprisingly, there was not another soul in sight. Clear blue skies, a touch of frost and an icy breeze helped create a scene of peace and harmony, the perfect way to start the year.
Our resolution this year is simple. To take more time to appreciate the little things in life. To be content with what we have, and not to stress too much about tomorrow. It is a cliché, I know, but how many of us actually do take time out to do it? We can get so caught up in our goals and targets, that we forget that true happiness and success doesn't come from reaching the destination… but from the journey itself. We are very driven but we also understand it's important to appreciate what drives us. It's all about balance.
We have some incredibly exciting plans for Pippa Mackenzie Photography this year….the opening of our studio which will take place next month, the launch of three new photography websites and the introduction of some really cool signature products. We also have some exciting personal projects that should take shape over the year.
But what is just as important to us is that we appreciate “The Little Things”... the sloppy and excited welcome we get each morning from Inca; sunrise over the South Downs; a roaring log fire; curling up with a new book; laughter with friends; the smell of fresh coffee; Sunday lunch with family; jumping on a pogo stick (OK, maybe that's a little unconventional), candles, bear hugs, a clear starry night sky, a big bubble bath with a glass of red wine, watching our god-children perform their school play,…..and a perfect frosty winter’s morning.
On that note, it’s time for us to enjoy another of our favourite things…. boiled eggs and soldiers with fresh eggs from our hens!
So, for now, we bid you a wonderful 2010, and look forward to catching up with you all soon.

Well, we're back from our Tuscany trip all rebooted and ready to go. The trip was a mix of work and pleasure, and what better place to do both!
Our excursion was mainly to take part in a Lovegrove 3 day workshop with some of the leading photographers in their field. More about this in "Tuscan retreat 2" but first here's a few holiday snapshots from our week.
As you can see we had a really fun time and definitely re-charched our creative batteries. We'll upload photos from our workshops in the next few days, so check back soon...
